BJP should learn from Scindia family how to construct temples: Jyotiraditya Scindia

Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia on Sunday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the Ayodhya Ram temple issue.

Addressing a press briefing at Jaipur in Rajasthan, Scindia accused that the BJP has the habit of making noises and should learn from the Scindia family how to construct temples. The Congress leader alleged that though the BJP promises the temple at Ayodhya but doesn't speak on the dates of construction of the temple.

Scindia further said that politics and religion should not be mixed with one another as religion is the personal matter.

He also added that if the BJP wants to learn how to construct a temple, they should learn that from the Scindia family. The Congress leader claimed that the Scindia family has constructed 60 temples across several states, including Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra. He also claimed but there has never been a trouble between the communities.

"Politics shouldn't enter religion and religion should not enter politics. As far as religion of a person is concerned, it's his personal matter...BJP has the habit to make noise and say 'Kasam Gita ki, mandir hum wahin banaenge' par tareekh nahi bataenge ('We swear by the Gita that we'll make the temple there' but the BJP won't announce the dates). This is BJP's reality. If they want to learn how to construct a temple, they should learn that from Scindia family, which made 60 temples across the state, including Rajasthan, UP and MP, Maharashtra but there was never a trouble between communities," said Scindia.

Speaking on the environment during the elections, Scindia said that Congress' principle is maintaining an environment of peace and tolerance and the party will end the environment of intolerance created by the BJP.

"If you look at our election process throughout the five states, Congress is very clear on what our principles are. Our principles are an environment of peace and tolerance. Environment of intolerance created by BJP will be finished by us. We’ve received reports that in many strongrooms CCTV & electricity were switched off for 1-2 hours. In Sagar 48 hours after polling a bus without a number plate reaches strongroom, in it there were 60-70 EVMs, this raises many questions," said the Congress leader.

"Our aim is development which includes every community and society. It's our age-old tradition which we'll continue to abide by. As far as Sushma ji making statements, she should ask Yogi Adityanath about his statements in Rajasthan and she'll get answer right there," added Scindia.
