HYDERABAD: A Dalit woman on Wednesday was allegedly dragged and harassed after she objected to a digging work in Andhra Pradesh.

The incident took place at Pendurdi in Vizianagaram district.

The woman has filed a complaint against the TDP workers who even tried to tear off her clothes.

The case has been registered under Scheduled Castes & Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Section 354 IPC.

An investigation has, meanwhile, been initiated.

"The woman objected to people digging, who later pulled her and shouted. She then registered a complaint. Case registered under Scheduled Castes & Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, Sec 354 IPC. Investigation underway," Assistant Commissioner of Police, Arjun said.
